Explosions in Beirut, Lebanon

Short videos of explosions rocking Beirut

“The explosion is thought to have been caused by 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored for six years without safety measures at the port, according to Lebanese President Michel Aoun.” – CNN

Growing up, my first exposure to wars and violence were the civil war in Lebanon. On the pages of Time and Newsweek magazines, pictures of violence on the streets of Beirut were a common sight. Thankfully the wars in Lebanon ended and have since been replaced with newer and deadlier wars like those of Syria and Yemen.

When I however saw the devastating explosions that tore through the heart of Beirut as depicted in the attached video, my mind when to 1982/83 Beirut.

This is to sympathize with the people of Lebanon and to pray that their nation know quick healing and restoration.
